Welcome back to my 6th and final sex toy review in honour of National Masturbation Month! Since a couple of you have asked, we will be returning back to regular scheduled programming as of June 1st, which includes my latest dating adventures and updates from our hardworking and illustrious Interns. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this review and stay tuned for a super awesome giveaway on Friday (it’s a good one and I am so, so, SO excited to share it with you guys!)
Lately, being a reality TV star seems to go hand in hand with putting out your own celebrity sex toy line. From Kandi Burruss’ line of Bedroom Kandi pleasure products to Kendra Wilkinson’s Love Candy line, it seems like like reality stars are churning out adult product lines faster than it takes to throw a glass of Ramona Singer Pinot Grigio in a dinner guest’s face. Now Coco, wife of Ice T and star of Ice Loves Coco has launched her own line of adult pleasure products, appropriately titled Coco-Licious.
Here’s something I never thought I’d admit on the internet: I’m actually a closeted Ice and Coco fan. Over the top appearances aside, they legitimately seem like a sweet couple that love each other. Just watch this clip of Ice and Coco being interviewed by Seth Myers (aka my “Imaginary Future Husband”) if you’re not convinced. Also I have on good authority from my buddy Abby, who spent an evening with Coco in Las Vegas, that she lives up to her reputation in some circles as “the nicest celebrity ever.”
So, when I found out that she had created a line of pleasure products with California Exotics, I was excited to see if they lived up to her larger than life personality. Luckily, California Exotics was kind enough to send me a Coco-licious Slender Tulip vibe to try and review.

I don’t own any toys with this shape, so I was super curious to see what the Coco-Licious Slender Tulip Vibe had in store.

–It’s really pretty. If you listen to the Seth Myer’s interview I linked to above, you’ll learn that the whole Coco-Licious line is designed to be cute, girly and discreet. Coco-Licious Slender Tulip Vibe definitely holds up in this respect. It’s super cute and has a silky soft, velvety finish that’s reminiscent of some of my higher end silicone toys.
–It’s 100% waterproof. You can play with this in the bath or shower – for those of you who enjoy this kind of thing, YAY!
–Price. Coco-Licious Slender Tulip Vibe retails for about $24, however you can currently pick it up on Amazon for $12.70.
With all of that said, this toy just totally didn’t work for me. Even on the highest setting, the vibrations are really high pitched and buzzy & similar to the Embrace Couples Vibe did very little for me. I tried the toy internally and externally but I couldn’t have an orgasm to save my life – a very rare scenario for me. Needless to say, this toy left me feeling disappointed and perplexed.
I know that my body responds best to vibrations that are deep, rumbly and powerful – and this toy definitely doesn’t offer any of those things. I have yet to meet someone who enjoys high-pitched, buzzy vibrations – however, maybe they are out there. If so, you might enjoy this toy…or not.
The only other potential “pro” for this toy is that because it has a slightly flared base you could in theory use it anally. However, as someone who isn’t really into anal play, I wasn’t about to find out.
I really wanted to like this toy, but alas, not all toys can’t be winners. California Exotics makes some great toys, like the Body Soul Lover (one of my faves) and the Entice Isabella, but this pink tulip is just not one of them. After disinfecting and putting this toy away in my sex toy storage cabinet, I doubt I’ll be using this toy again any time soon. However, I can’t say the same about the other employees at Skinny Dip headquarters.
