For my first review of 2015 I thought I’d start with a toy that’s been on my “sex toy bucket list” since it was released last year. The Fun Factory Stronic Eins is a sex toy that “thrusts” instead of vibrates. Yes, thrusts. Like a real penis. When I found this out I knew I had to try it (I MEAN COME ON. HOW COULD I NOT?) Luckily, the super cool people over at Sex Toys Canada were kind of enough to send me my very own Stronic Eins to review.

So, now that you’ve seen the video and maybe danced (fist-pumped?) a bit around your bedroom, you’re probably wondering what the toy actually feels like. The truth is, although I absolutely love the idea of the Stronic Eins (I mean, who wouldn’t want a toy that thrusts on demand?!) my first experience with the toy fell a bit flat.
I love that the toy is made of silky soft silicone and is super easy to use, however even though the toy felt good when inserted, the thrusting motions alone weren’t really enough to get me off. As you’ve probably surmised from my previous reviews I’m a fan of big, powerful toys – especially when they are meant to be inserted. Although the Stronic Eins touts itself as exactly that, it wasn’t quite big or powerful enough for me. Although the Stronic Eins is nice and girthy, with only 4 inches that are actually insertable, it wasn’t long enough or curved enough to really reach my g-spot. That isn’t to say this toy didn’t feel good – it did – it just wasn’t enough to really push me over the edge.
To get an idea of the scale of the toy, I had Joe the Intern measure the toy for you guys. Considering the insertable portion is 4″ and the average penis is about 6″ erect, the Stronic Eins is actually a lot smaller than it looks at first glance.
However, not willing to give up on this toy without an orgasm on the books, I decided to take matters into my own hands. While holding the Stronic Eins in place, I grabbed my trusty We-Vibe Tango and used it on my clit. The result: Oh. my. freaking. god. Just that tiny bit of clitoral stimulation was enough to take this toy from “that feels kind of nice” to “holy-shit-my-vision-is-blurring-total-orgasm-bliss.”
One of my favourite shows of all time is Homeland. Since my Mom had never seen it, we watched the entire series over the holidays. The Stronic Eins is kind of like the Senator Lockhart of vibrators. You kind of hate him at first. You think he’s dumb and frustrating and deceptive. However, by the end of season four he redeems himself. Next thing you know, you’re saying “Cheers” over Irish Whiskey and thinking, “this dude is actually kind of rad.” Yes, the Stronic Eins is exactly like that.
This toy definitely has some serious potential, however it just wasn’t quite the be all, end all, perfect toy for me. However, if Fun Factory decided to remove that annoying clitoral bump, therefore making the toy closer to 6 or 7″ that’s insertable, I predict my vagina would find the Stronic Eins absolutely heavenly. However, until that day arrives I’m going to be enjoying the Stronic Eins with a little (mind-blowing) help from my We-Vibe Tango.
Knowing what I know now I really wish I’d tried the Stronic Drei – the slightly larger, more curved model in the line (below) because I think it would have worked better for my body. I’ll definitely be adding it to my sex toy bucket-list.
