The Fun Factory Stronic Eins: It’s Not a Vibrator, it’s a “Pulsator”

For my first review of 2015 I thought I’d start with a toy that’s been on my “sex toy bucket list” since it was released last year. The Fun Factory Stronic Eins is a sex toy that “thrusts” instead of vibrates. Yes, thrusts. Like a real penis. When I found this out I knew I had to try it (I MEAN COME ON. HOW COULD I NOT?) Luckily, the super cool people over at Sex Toys Canada were kind of enough to send me my very own Stronic Eins to review.

What you need to know about the Fun Factory Stronic Eins is that it’s a “pulsator” not a vibrator. Instead of vibrating, the Stronic Eins delivers realistic thrusting motions to simulate the feeling of real sex. It’s made of 100% body safe silicone and features a subtly curved shaft with a slight bump near the base designed for clitoral stimulation. It has 10 different thrusting patterns & levels and a very easy to use one-touch on/off button. The toy measures approximately 9 inches in length, however only about 4 inches is actually insertable.

The Stronic Eins is really one of those toys that you have to see in action to believe. So, if you’d like to get a visual of what this toy is all about. Here’s a video from Fun Factory complete with techno beats worthy of a night out with the Jersey Shore cast. The video features some medical style diagrams that may not be safe for work. If you can’t watch the video, just imagine one of those electric knives people use to carve turkeys…with a penis attached. Picturing it? Ok, good.

So, now that you’ve seen the video and maybe danced (fist-pumped?) a bit around your bedroom, you’re probably wondering what the toy actually feels like. The truth is, although I absolutely love the idea of the Stronic Eins (I mean, who wouldn’t want a toy that thrusts on demand?!) my first experience with the toy fell a bit flat.

I love that the toy is made of silky soft silicone and is super easy to use, however even though the toy felt good when inserted, the thrusting motions alone weren’t really enough to get me off. As you’ve probably surmised from my previous reviews I’m a fan of big, powerful toys – especially when they are meant to be inserted. Although the Stronic Eins touts itself as exactly that, it wasn’t quite big or powerful enough for me. Although the Stronic Eins is nice and girthy, with only 4 inches that are actually insertable, it wasn’t long enough or curved enough to really reach my g-spot. That isn’t to say this toy didn’t feel good – it did – it just wasn’t enough to really push me over the edge.

Stocking Stuffer Ideas for The Sexually Adventurous

stocking stuffers

One of the best parts of writing this blog is that I get to try a lot of products that I wouldn’t normally have access to. I also get to recommend cool things to my friends. That’s why I was super excited when Lovehoney decided to send me the following two products just in time for the holidays. Both of these items are a bit out of the ordinary and would make awesome, affordable stocking stuffers.

1. Lovehoney Curved Realistic Sensual Glass Dildo ($29.99) – If you’re looking for something totally different for you or your meaningful other(s), why not try a glass dildo like this one?!

52502-5
It’s been a really long time since I reviewed a glass toy, so I thought it would be fun to feature one again. The Lovehoney Curved Realistic Sensual Glass Dildo is a gorgeous piece of erotic architecture made of silky, smooth reinforced glass. One of the nice things about glass toys is that you can heat them or cool them for temperature play. Simply submerge the toy in warm water, or cool it in the fridge for 10 minutes before use. Be sure to test the temperature on your arm, before directing it towards more intimate areas. Because it’s made of nonporous glass, it’s also 100% body-safe and compatible with any lube you choose.

The Lovehoney Curved Realistic Sensual Glass Dildo is 8.75 inches long, with 8.56 inches of insertable length. So, this is not a small toy. It’s pleasantly large. It has a slightly curved shaft and bulbous head for g-spot or p-spot stimulation. Because it has a flared base, you can also use it anally. However, because of the length I wouldn’t recommend this for beginner’s anal play.

Overall, I was really impressed with the quality of this toy, especially given the reasonable price point. The glass is super sturdy and soft to the touch. The toy even comes with a soft, velvet carrying case that’s trimmed in a hot pink ribbon tie.

If you’ve never used a glass toy before my advice would be this: a) do it! The sensation feels really different than most other toys and b) use lots and lots of lube. Need some lube suggestions? Any of the ones in my condom and lube sampler pack rock. I’m also a huge fan of Hathor Aphrodisia.

Personally, I really enjoy it when other people use glass toys on me, so the last time I saw the European before he moved away, we experimented with the Lovehoney Curved Realistic Sensual Glass Dildo or as I like to call it “the big icicle penis” with very positive results. The bulbous head feels great against the g-spot, especially when you move it in and out using a circular motion.

Overall, the  Lovehoney Curved Realistic Sensual Glass Dildo makes a sexy and unexpected gift for couples or individuals who are looking to try something new or have always fantasized about giant icicle penises (hey, I can’t be the only one.)

In fact, this is such a gorgeous toy that I kind of want to just leave it out on my desk so I can look at it while I work (yes, it stands up on it’s own!) It’s icicle like appearance also makes it perfect for creating sex positive holiday scenes that are sure to alienate your friends and family for years to come. Nope, nothing weird about this. Nothing at all…

2. Lovehoney Open Back Sheer Lace Panties with Straps – Exciting news! Lovehoney, the people who made two of my favourite vibrators  have launched their own line of sexy lingerie. They sent me this pair of these open back underwear from their “Love Me” line to share with you guys. Let me just put this out there: I totally get that these underwear are not for everyone. However, I’d never seen anything like them before, so I knew I had to try them.

Review & Giveaway | Win a Revel Body Sol Sonic Vibrator

9b6b315945cca2a88650ac7700658ebd_largeHey guys, do you remember when I reviewed the Revel Body Sonic – that spherical vibrator that looks like an old-school web cam and reminded of what I imagine it would feel like to ride in Larry David’s car? Well, the brainchildren over at Revel Body have come up with an updated version, the Revel Body Sol and there were kind enough to send me one to test drive.

6f41d8ab2a66059a6b770dbd59cec518_large
If you’re unfamiliar with the Revel Body line, you can read my original review here. Like the original, the second-generation Revel Body SOL is a powerful clitoral vibrator featuring TrueSonic technology, perfect for body massage and clitoral stimulation. Roll it on the body or use the vibrating tip, which varies from thumpy and powerful to fast and buzzy. It comes with three redesigned and improved tips for customized performance and a new QuietCore piston for quieter operation. Like the original it’s 100% body-safe.

To summarize, the new Revel Body Sol is stronger, quieter and comes with more goodies.

I had a deep sense of “like” for the original and these new improvements have definitely pushed me over the edge into “love” territory. One of my main complaints about the original was the noise. Although the Revel Body Sol is still far from whisper quiet, the new version sounds less like you’re using a power tool in your bedroom.

Although the original was really powerful in it’s own right, I did notice that the sensations were a bit stronger with the Sol. The rumbly, bouncy, thumpy vibrations are still my favourite and the buzzy ones still do nothing for my clitoris (although, they do feel really nice for massage!) Overall despite looking nearly identical, the Revel Body Sol provides a more powerful, smooth ride than the original.

Revel Body SolHowever, my favourite thing about the Revel Body Sol is that it comes with two different attachments which, previously you had to purchase separately. I love that you can easily remove the smooth pink head and switch things up with different attachments for a completely customized experience. The Revel Body Sol comes with “Fawn” an ultra-soft, brush-like head designed for tickling sensations and “Ever”  which is slightly curved with circular ribbing for extra stimulation. Although I was most curious about the Fawn attachment, it was “Ever” that really won me over. I just feels f*cking awesome, especially when you use it on the rumblier settings. I have no explanation for why it feels so good, other than magic.

Revel BodyOf course, Joe the Intern is still a bit confused and convinced that the Revel Body Sol is in fact, an old school web cam. I discovered this when I found him trying to communicate with a “nice girl” he met from a site called RussianDolls4u.

Revel body sol -2Although Joe is still frustrated with his love life, I’m totally enjoying my experience with the Revel Body Sol. I just love how versatile and different is from any other sex toys I own. The Revel Body Sol is definitely a fun and unique addition to any bedroom arsenal!

If you’re curious about this toy (as you should be), I have some great news: the lovely people at Revel would like to send one lucky reader their very own Revel Body Sol. To enter, leave a comment and follow the prompts below. I’ll pick a winner Tuesday December 16th.

My Top 10 ‘Must Have’ Sex Toys

TOP 10 SEX TOYSFriends are always asking me for sex toy recommendations, so I thought I would put together a list of my favourite toys in my collection. These are the sex toys that I reach for again & again, and confidently recommend to friends. I hope you enjoy!

(BTW, I loathe batteries, so all of these toys are fully rechargeable.)

top 10 -11. The We-Vibe Touch – When it comes to small clitoral vibrators, I consider the We-Vibe Touch the gold standard. I happily recommend this toy to everyone, because I feel like it’s a toy almost anyone could enjoy. Ergonomically designed so it fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, the We-Vibe Touch offers a really great range of vibrations – from delicate and teasing to really intense. You can use the flexible tip for pin-pointed stimulation or the larger surface for all over vibration. For people who’ve never used a vibrator, the We-Vibe Touch is a great place to start. I reach for this one often for both solo and couples play! (original review)

Top 10 - 32. The Body & Soul Lover by Cal Exotics – For someone who is looking to purchase their first rabbit vibrator, the Body & Soul Lover is my go-to recommendation. It’s small and non-intimidating and yet, it seems to hit all of the right spots (even for someone like me who tends to prefer larger toys.) I’ve recommended this toy to several readers with lots of positive feedback. (original review)

Top 10-73. The Lelo Insignia Soraya – I debated whether to include this luxe rabbit vibrator on this list. Even though it’s my favourite, a huge part of the reason I love it so much is because it fits my body absolutely perfectly. My g-spot is located fairly far back and the Soraya’s long, straight shaft with a slightly flared head hits it like no other toy I own (every. single. time.) I also love that the clitoral arm is super flexible, making it easy to control the amount of pressure on your clitoris. Oh and it’s a totally gorgeous toy, which also doesn’t hurt. (original review, toy available here)

Top 10 -64. The Crave Duet – I’ve referred to this sleek and tiny vibrator as the James Bond of sex toys because it’s one sexy and sophisticated little beast. I love how the flexible arms surround my clit – leading to mind blowing orgasms every, single time. The fact that you can “dismantle” this toy and easily travel with it, makes me feel like I’m carrying around my very own sexy, spy-worthy secret weapon. (original review)

Top 10 -85. The We-Vibe Tango – When it comes to tiny bullet vibrators, the We-Vibe Tango blows everything else out of the water. Made of hard, shiny plastic that easily transmits vibrations, this bullet is ridiculously intense for it’s tiny size. If you enjoy powerful clitoral stimulation, this is a fun one for couples play or for those times when time is scarce and you just want to have an orgasm, like, right now. (original review)

Top 10 -116. Lelo Ina – This stylized rabbit  is not for the faint of heart. The curved shaft presses on your g-spot while equally curved arm presses on your clitoris. Combine these two features with strong, rumbly vibrations and you have a very intense experience. The first time I used this toy I felt like I had stars and rockets and sparkly unicorns shooting out of my vagina. This toy is a lot of fun, but not recommended for first timers or anyone who doesn’t like really intense pressure & stimulation on their clitoris. (original review)

Top 10 -27. The Jimmyjane Form 2 – Similar to the Crave Duet, the Jimmyjane Form 2 has two “arms” or “rabbit ears” that can be used to surround your clit and powerful, intense vibrations. Use the “ears” to hug your clit, or the tips of the ears for pinpointed stimulation – either way, this is a great clitoral vibe for people who like their vibrators powerful, rumbly and compact. (original review)

Top 10 -108. Lelo Mona – Mona was the first luxury vibrator I ever purchased and she remains one of my  favourites to this day. The Lelo Mona has a similar g-spot friendly shape to the Lelo Ina, minus the clitoral arm. You can use it internally or externally, making it a versatile (and oh so pretty) addition to your toy chest. (original review, toy available here.)

Top 10 -99. The Lovehoney Happy Rabbit – Looking to upgrade your old rabbit vibrator with something luxurious, effective and affordable? Like toys that are on the slightly larger side? Meet the Love-honey Happy Rabbit. You’re welcome. (original review)

Top 10 - 510. The Sqweel Go – I love this little guy. I don’t reach for this toy all the time, but when I do I always enjoy the experience. It’s small, affordable and just so different. The Sqweel Go is a great addition to your bedroom arsenal if you already have a few toys and want to mix things up.

Honourable mentions:

The Revel Body Sonic: Like the Sqweel, this one is so different in a weird and wonderful way that I find myself playing with it quite a bit lately. (original review)

The Jopen Vr12: In case you haven’t noticed, I love a good rabbit vibrator. This one has a shaft that rotates. Yes, rotates. Need I say more? (original review)

Now that I’ve shared mine, what are your favourite toy(s)?

Review | Introducing the Sonia Wand by Sensual Hut

A few years ago I bought the Hitachi Magic Wand  because I’d heard it was the “Cadillac of Vibrators” – the original, the be-all-end-all, the orgasm holy grail. Frankly, I was curious (who wouldn’t be?!) However, I think I am the only person on earth that doesn’t completely love the Hitachi. Yes, it’s truly the most powerful vibrator I’ve ever experienced – but, not necessarily in a good way. It’s so powerful that it actually numbs out my lady parts. I think I have used it a total of 3 times since purchasing it and one of those times was to give myself a neck massage. Since then I’ve been weary of trying any other wand style vibrators.

However, when Sensual Hut contacted me to see if I’d be interested in reviewing one of their toys, I decided I’d give wands another try. Enter the Sonia Wand by Sensual Hut, a sleek, gorgeous and compact wand style vibrator.

SH 1
The Sonia Wand by Sensual Hut is made of 100% velvety smooth, medical grade silicone and features a gorgeous metallic plated ABS plastic insert. It has 7 different vibration modes and three intense power levels, and a flexible head to help reach all of you &/or your partner’s curves. To use this toy, place the bulb head of the toy on your clit, lay back & enjoy! You can also use the Sonia as a massage tool for other sensitive areas on you or your partner’s body.

Sensual hut 1
There’s a couple of things that I really like about this toy:

1) It’s rechargeable. Unlike the Hitachi Magic Wand which plugs into the wall (a feature I’ve always found awkward and slightly scary) the Sonia Wand is fully rechargeable by USB.

2) It’s way more convenient.  At approximately 3/4 the size of the Hitachi and at least 1/2 the weight, this is just a way more convenient and discrete toy to travel with or keep in your nightstand. Plus, you never have to plug it in.

SH 2
3) It’s ergonomic. The curved design of this toy is simply gorgeous and it fits nicely in your hand. Because it’s a smaller sized wand it’s also very easy to manoeuvre with intuitive controls.

4) It’s powerful. This toy has a lot of power. Not quite as much as the Hitachi, but enough to give you some really great orgasms!

5) It’s silicone. One of my complaints about the Hitachi Magic Wand is the plastic material that makes up it’s bulbous head actually really irritates my skin. Although I found the Sonia did numb me out a bit after use, it was nothing like the Hitachi. Also, because it’s silicone, it didn’t irritate my lady parts.

photo
What I didn’t like about this toy, was that it delivered vibrations to far too wide an area – which is the reason I tend to avoid wand style vibrators in the first place. There’s nothing wrong with this toy, it’s just that at the end of the day, I still prefer toys that provide precise and pinpointed stimulation like the We-Vibe Touch, The We-Vibe Tango, The Jimmyjane Form 2 or the Crave Duet. With that said, I’m still going to keep the Sonia around because I think she’d make a nice addition when it comes to massage during foreplay.

However, if you are a fan of wand vibrators this one is really nice! Pretty, easy to use, rechargeable, waterproof and doesn’t look like it’s been teleported from 1984. The Sonia retails for $79.99 and is available exclusively through Sensual Hut. Enter the code skinnydip at checkout and get 15% off anything in the store!

What do you guys think – any fans of wand style vibes out there?

PS. I received this toy free of charge in exchange for my honest review of the product. All opinions are my own because that is how I roll.
