My Top 10 ‘Must Have’ Sex Toys

TOP 10 SEX TOYSFriends are always asking me for sex toy recommendations, so I thought I would put together a list of my favourite toys in my collection. These are the sex toys that I reach for again & again, and confidently recommend to friends. I hope you enjoy!

(BTW, I loathe batteries, so all of these toys are fully rechargeable.)

top 10 -11. The We-Vibe Touch – When it comes to small clitoral vibrators, I consider the We-Vibe Touch the gold standard. I happily recommend this toy to everyone, because I feel like it’s a toy almost anyone could enjoy. Ergonomically designed so it fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, the We-Vibe Touch offers a really great range of vibrations – from delicate and teasing to really intense. You can use the flexible tip for pin-pointed stimulation or the larger surface for all over vibration. For people who’ve never used a vibrator, the We-Vibe Touch is a great place to start. I reach for this one often for both solo and couples play! (original review)

Top 10 - 32. The Body & Soul Lover by Cal Exotics – For someone who is looking to purchase their first rabbit vibrator, the Body & Soul Lover is my go-to recommendation. It’s small and non-intimidating and yet, it seems to hit all of the right spots (even for someone like me who tends to prefer larger toys.) I’ve recommended this toy to several readers with lots of positive feedback. (original review)

Top 10-73. The Lelo Insignia Soraya – I debated whether to include this luxe rabbit vibrator on this list. Even though it’s my favourite, a huge part of the reason I love it so much is because it fits my body absolutely perfectly. My g-spot is located fairly far back and the Soraya’s long, straight shaft with a slightly flared head hits it like no other toy I own (every. single. time.) I also love that the clitoral arm is super flexible, making it easy to control the amount of pressure on your clitoris. Oh and it’s a totally gorgeous toy, which also doesn’t hurt. (original review, toy available here)

Top 10 -64. The Crave Duet – I’ve referred to this sleek and tiny vibrator as the James Bond of sex toys because it’s one sexy and sophisticated little beast. I love how the flexible arms surround my clit – leading to mind blowing orgasms every, single time. The fact that you can “dismantle” this toy and easily travel with it, makes me feel like I’m carrying around my very own sexy, spy-worthy secret weapon. (original review)

Top 10 -85. The We-Vibe Tango – When it comes to tiny bullet vibrators, the We-Vibe Tango blows everything else out of the water. Made of hard, shiny plastic that easily transmits vibrations, this bullet is ridiculously intense for it’s tiny size. If you enjoy powerful clitoral stimulation, this is a fun one for couples play or for those times when time is scarce and you just want to have an orgasm, like, right now. (original review)

Top 10 -116. Lelo Ina – This stylized rabbit  is not for the faint of heart. The curved shaft presses on your g-spot while equally curved arm presses on your clitoris. Combine these two features with strong, rumbly vibrations and you have a very intense experience. The first time I used this toy I felt like I had stars and rockets and sparkly unicorns shooting out of my vagina. This toy is a lot of fun, but not recommended for first timers or anyone who doesn’t like really intense pressure & stimulation on their clitoris. (original review)

Top 10 -27. The Jimmyjane Form 2 – Similar to the Crave Duet, the Jimmyjane Form 2 has two “arms” or “rabbit ears” that can be used to surround your clit and powerful, intense vibrations. Use the “ears” to hug your clit, or the tips of the ears for pinpointed stimulation – either way, this is a great clitoral vibe for people who like their vibrators powerful, rumbly and compact. (original review)

Top 10 -108. Lelo Mona – Mona was the first luxury vibrator I ever purchased and she remains one of my  favourites to this day. The Lelo Mona has a similar g-spot friendly shape to the Lelo Ina, minus the clitoral arm. You can use it internally or externally, making it a versatile (and oh so pretty) addition to your toy chest. (original review, toy available here.)

Top 10 -99. The Lovehoney Happy Rabbit – Looking to upgrade your old rabbit vibrator with something luxurious, effective and affordable? Like toys that are on the slightly larger side? Meet the Love-honey Happy Rabbit. You’re welcome. (original review)

Top 10 - 510. The Sqweel Go – I love this little guy. I don’t reach for this toy all the time, but when I do I always enjoy the experience. It’s small, affordable and just so different. The Sqweel Go is a great addition to your bedroom arsenal if you already have a few toys and want to mix things up.

Honourable mentions:

The Revel Body Sonic: Like the Sqweel, this one is so different in a weird and wonderful way that I find myself playing with it quite a bit lately. (original review)

The Jopen Vr12: In case you haven’t noticed, I love a good rabbit vibrator. This one has a shaft that rotates. Yes, rotates. Need I say more? (original review)

Now that I’ve shared mine, what are your favourite toy(s)?

Review | Introducing the Sonia Wand by Sensual Hut

A few years ago I bought the Hitachi Magic Wand  because I’d heard it was the “Cadillac of Vibrators” – the original, the be-all-end-all, the orgasm holy grail. Frankly, I was curious (who wouldn’t be?!) However, I think I am the only person on earth that doesn’t completely love the Hitachi. Yes, it’s truly the most powerful vibrator I’ve ever experienced – but, not necessarily in a good way. It’s so powerful that it actually numbs out my lady parts. I think I have used it a total of 3 times since purchasing it and one of those times was to give myself a neck massage. Since then I’ve been weary of trying any other wand style vibrators.

However, when Sensual Hut contacted me to see if I’d be interested in reviewing one of their toys, I decided I’d give wands another try. Enter the Sonia Wand by Sensual Hut, a sleek, gorgeous and compact wand style vibrator.

SH 1
The Sonia Wand by Sensual Hut is made of 100% velvety smooth, medical grade silicone and features a gorgeous metallic plated ABS plastic insert. It has 7 different vibration modes and three intense power levels, and a flexible head to help reach all of you &/or your partner’s curves. To use this toy, place the bulb head of the toy on your clit, lay back & enjoy! You can also use the Sonia as a massage tool for other sensitive areas on you or your partner’s body.

There’s a couple of things that I really like about this toy:

1) It’s rechargeable. Unlike the Hitachi Magic Wand which plugs into the wall (a feature I’ve always found awkward and slightly scary) the Sonia Wand is fully rechargeable by USB.

2) It’s way more convenient.  At approximately 3/4 the size of the Hitachi and at least 1/2 the weight, this is just a way more convenient and discrete toy to travel with or keep in your nightstand. Plus, you never have to plug it in.

SH 2
3) It’s ergonomic. The curved design of this toy is simply gorgeous and it fits nicely in your hand. Because it’s a smaller sized wand it’s also very easy to manoeuvre with intuitive controls.

4) It’s powerful. This toy has a lot of power. Not quite as much as the Hitachi, but enough to give you some really great orgasms!

5) It’s silicone. One of my complaints about the Hitachi Magic Wand is the plastic material that makes up it’s bulbous head actually really irritates my skin. Although I found the Sonia did numb me out a bit after use, it was nothing like the Hitachi. Also, because it’s silicone, it didn’t irritate my lady parts.

What I didn’t like about this toy, was that it delivered vibrations to far too wide an area – which is the reason I tend to avoid wand style vibrators in the first place. There’s nothing wrong with this toy, it’s just that at the end of the day, I still prefer toys that provide precise and pinpointed stimulation like the We-Vibe Touch, The We-Vibe Tango, The Jimmyjane Form 2 or the Crave Duet. With that said, I’m still going to keep the Sonia around because I think she’d make a nice addition when it comes to massage during foreplay.

However, if you are a fan of wand vibrators this one is really nice! Pretty, easy to use, rechargeable, waterproof and doesn’t look like it’s been teleported from 1984. The Sonia retails for $79.99 and is available exclusively through Sensual Hut. Enter the code skinnydip at checkout and get 15% off anything in the store!

What do you guys think – any fans of wand style vibes out there?

PS. I received this toy free of charge in exchange for my honest review of the product. All opinions are my own because that is how I roll.

Back to Basics: Meet the Jopen Envy 3

One of my favourite movies is Slums of Beverly Hills. For those of you who aren’t familiar with it, it’s a quirky comedy about a lower middle class teenager (played by Orange is the New Black‘s Natasha Lyonne) living in 1976 Beverly Hills. I saw it when I was in my late teens and it’s remained a fave ever since.

There are so many awkward and hilarious coming of age moments in the film that occur between Vivian (Lyonne) and her oddball family- including one where Vivian discovers her older sister’s vibrator.

tumblr_lo2a33KQ0z1qb9pa3o1_500
Although the film takes place in the 70’s, it came out in the late 90’s. Looking back, I realized that this was one of the first times I was ever exposed to anything to do with sex toys. The Sex and The City “Rabbit Habit” episode hadn’t aired yet and it would be years before I bought my first sex toy. However, the image of the large, ultra-straight, vibrator from Slums of Beverly Hills definitely stuck with me.

When I first saw the the Jopen Envy 3, I immediately thought of that scene from the movie. Most of my vibrators are either really small, curved, or rabbit style. So, when the lovely folks at Jopen offered to send me a Jopen Envy 3, I couldn’t resist. How would this toy compare to my other beloved sex toys?

6000-15-3n
First of all, here are the specs:  The Jopen Envy 3 is a classic vibrator made of 100% hypoallergenic, body-safe, silky smooth silicone. It’s approximately 7″ long, with 6.5″ of that which is actually insertable – making it a fairly sizeable toy. It offers 7 different vibration settings with incremental speed control and a 100% playing surface – this means that the whole thing vibrates and you can experiment with touching different areas of the toy on different areas of your body. It’s also fully rechargeable by USB and waterproof for bath-time fun.

One of the cool features about this toy is that it includes a state of the art memory chip that keeps track of the last function you used, so that it’s ready to go when you turn it on for your next play session. You can use the Jopen Envy 3 as a clitoral vibrator or you can insert it – or you can alternate between the two (which is what I found I preferred) – it’s totally up to you!

Review | Nomi Tang: Almost As Good As Chocolate

When a sex toy makes the claim that it’s better than chocolate, I’m interested. That’s why I was excited when the people at Nomi Tang contacted me about reviewing their new clitoral vibrator, the Nomi Tang Better Than Chocolate 2.

better_than_chocolate_2
Nomi Tang Better Than Chocolate 2 is a luxury clitoral vibrator that’s made of sleek, body-safe silicone and is formed to fit perfectly in the palm of your hand. It’s fully rechargeable by USB and can be submerged under water up to one metre. The Better Than Chocolate 2 is no slump: Cosmopolitan UK recently named it as ” the sexiest vibrator” for its sleek looks and innovative pleasure technology. It’s also the 2014 recipient of one of the world’s most coveted design awards, the red dot design award for product design. It goes without saying that I was super curious about this toy.

What separates the Better Than Chocolate 2 from most other luxury clitoral vibrators is that it features an innovative Touch Sensor. Instead of pressing a button to increase the intensity of the vibrations, you simply run your finger along the touch sensor pad. And yes, I have a handy gif ready to demonstrate!

There’s a lot of things I really like about the The Better Than Chocolate 2:

It’s sexy and feels very luxurious: Just by looking at this toy it’s easy to see why it has won awards. It’s small, extremely compact and ultra sleek. It has a velvety texture that feels great. It also comes packaged in a lovely satin lined gift box that makes you feel like you’re opening a very sexy gift.

It offers strong, pin-pointed vibrations – As I’ve mentioned before, I love clitoral vibrators that are very precise (blame the fact that I am a Virgo!) like the We-Vibe Touch and Tango. The Better Than Chocolate 2 is great in this respect because it has a pin-pointed tip that excels in delivering precise stimulation to your clit. Also, the vibrations are nice and strong, which is a must for me!

It’s discreet – As a friend of mine commented, it looks like a futuristic computer mouse. So much so, that it actually fooled Joe the Intern.

However, what I thought I would like best about the Better Than Chocolate 2 – the touch sensor control pad – was actually what I liked least. Although the toy fit perfectly in my hand, I found it super awkward trying to move my finger up and down the pad. To access the most intense vibrations (what I usually enjoy) you have to hold your finger at the furthest point of the pad, which I couldn’t quite reach when using this toy. I’m not sure whether this is a design flaw, or just a case of me having really short fingers. Either way, it definitely took away from the experience.

nomi tang 1

Aside from my frustrations with the control pad, I still think the Better Than Chocolate 2 is a really nice toy. At the end of the day, for me it just comes down to personal preference. It’s like how I felt about the Lelo Siri – it’s a good toy, I just prefer my favourite clitoral vibrators like the We-Vibe TouchThe We-Vibe TangoThe Jimmyjane Form 2 or the Crave Duet more. It’s like chocolate: some people love milk chocolate (me), others dark chocolate. It doesn’t mean that one is better than the other, just different.

So, for me this toy isn’t “Better Than Chocolate” but rather “Almost as good as.” It’s like the dark chocolate, to my rich milk chocolate.

And now I’m hungry.

Thanks to Nomi Tang for facilitating this review. I received this toy free of charge in exchange for my honest review of the product. All opinions are my own because that’s how I roll.

Whoomp There It Is! Meet The Jopen Comet G II (& Your G-Spot)

Although I’m fortunate enough to get to try a lot of cool sex toys thanks to the fabulous companies I work with, there are a few sex toys that are still on my “sex toy bucket list” – the Jopen Comet G II is one of them. Others include the Fun Factory Stronic Eins, the Njoy Fun Wand and the Infinit Massager by NS Novelties. So when the team at Jopen offered to help me cross off one of my sex toy bucket list items and send me by very own Jopen Comet G II, I was super excited!

8071-10-3n
The Jopen Comet G II is an update on the Comet G 1 – which I had also been lusting after for quite some time. Both are gorgeous toys (the original is made of silicone coated glass, the II is made of clear  glass-like plastic that’s been coated in silicone) and I’ve only heard good things about them – the Comet wands have a reputation for being absolutely awesome at stimulating the G-spot. Whereas the first version was strictly a dildo (without vibrations), the updated version includes a vibrator that you can either leave on or off during use.

8071-10-3x
Here are the specs: The Jopen Comet G II is a silicone, body safe, phthalate free g-Spot toy that measures approximately 7.5 inches long, with 5.5 inches of that actually insertable. It has a chic, glass-like handle and a curved shape designed to reach your g-spot. The shaft starts off narrow, gradually growing wider and ending with a bulbous head that’s approximately 6 inches in circumference. It features 7 different vibration patterns and is fully rechargeable by USB. It’s also waterproof so you can use it in the bath, shower or wherever else you decide to get it on!

The toy feels soft, velvety and has a substantial weight to it thanks to the handle which really makes you feel like you’re holding a product that’s luxurious and reminiscent of a beautiful sculpture.

I really love the thickness of the head, however some people may find the head of this toy a bit large, which is why I would suggest that you use lube with this toy.

One word to describe the Jopen Comet G II:

Intense.
