Hello! I’m Simone, a writer based on the West Coast of Canada.
Since 2013, I’ve been the nationally syndicated sex and relationship columnist for the Toronto Sun, where my column The Sex Files appears each week.
You may have also read my writing in places like The Washington Post, Chowhound, The Financial Diet, Horoscope.com and World Bride or seen me mentioned in GQ, Vice or The New York Times.
A voracious reader, travel junkie & taco connoisseur, I’m obsessed with hip hop, 90’s R&B, true crime podcasts & great stories. I like my lipstick red, my leather jackets black and my coffee strong.
I started Skinny Dip in 2009 because I wanted a place place to tell stories and sort through the romantic wreckage of my 20’s. While you’ll find lots of pieces about about sex, dating & relationships in the archives (hey, I’ve been at this for 10+ years!), Skinny Dip has since evolved to include posts about the places I’ve been, the things I’m reading, my mental health journey and more.
I also have a pint-sized intern named Joe, whose Instagram has been featured in The New York Times and on Canada.com
When I’m not analyzing the intricacies of modern romance, lugging my lap-top through an airport or contorting my body to capture Joe’s best angles, I speak at conferences, contribute to podcasts and am a sought after media expert for all things love, sex, dating and social media.
I’m currently in the process of completing my first book.
