Review | The Lelo Ina Wave: My New Favourite Sex Toy

A few days before Valentine’s Day, my younger man-friend and I decided to call the romantic portion of our relationship quits. It’s all good though – he’s a lovely human being, but we both realized that we make better friends than anything else. So, with no big plans for Valentine’s Day I decided to treat myself to a weekend in Vancouver. After my lost month I was in dire need of a change of scenery. The fact that my friend Courtney was in town and had purchased us tickets to go watch Fifty Shades of Grey only sweetened the deal 🙂

As I’ve mentioned before, living at home sometimes presents challenges when it comes to my “extra-curriculars” (I.e. trying and reviewing sex toys.) So, knowing I’d be going out of town for a two days I threw a couple of the toys sitting on my desk into my suitcase. Among them was the Lelo Ina Wave.  Long story short: I never ended up trying the other two toys I brought because Ina and I became quite attached over the weekend.

If the Ina Wave looks familiar, it’s because it’s a new version of the Lelo Ina which I reviewed here. Only with a one very big difference: instead of a vibrating shaft, it has a shaft that moves in a finger-like “come hither motion” to stimulate your g-spot….and frankly, it’s heavenly.

shop3966800.pictures.LeloInaWaveVibratorOpruimDealsOver the past few years I’ve tried and reviewed a lot of sex toys. One thing I’ve learned: not all toys are created equal. Despite really cool tech-y features, a lot of luxury vibrators don’t live up to their hype or my connoisseur expectations. I’m happy to say that the Ina Wave is not one of them.

I’m completely giddy and over the moon about this vibrator.

Quick specs: The Lelo Ina Wave is a rabbit vibrator designed for pleasure connoisseurs. It’s made of 100% velvety soft, body safe silicone, features 10 different pleasure patterns, is fully rechargeable and waterproof. As a dual stimulating toy it features a vibrating clitoral arm + an insertable shaft that vibrates and moves back and forth to stimulate your g-spot.

To quote Lelo, “INA Wave is inspired by the caress of a lover’s fingers, as it surges with a natural ‘come-hither’ motion to massage your G-Spot. While its generous body rises and falls, the powerful clitoral stimulator creates a blended climax that crashes over you.” When I read that description on the website all I could think was, “Yes, please!”

Positive-Vibes-Lelo-Ina-Wave(Still having a hard time visualizing what the Lelo Ina Wave is all about? I suggest you watch this short video clip which shows the “come hither” finger motion in action.)

Real talk: When it comes to sex and having consistently awesome orgasms, that “come hither” motion and I are very good friends. Although there’s always exceptions to the rule, I generally don’t struggle with having orgasms. However, one thing that consistently gets me off is a combination of clitoral stimulation via oral sex and that “come hither” finger motion. Men, if you’ve never tried this or don’t know how: learn. The women in your life will thank you. I promise.

(FYI. Years ago I dated a guy who was categorically a terrible boyfriend, however particularly gifted at this oral + finger move. I kept him around way longer than I should have because I was convinced he possessed a magical tongue and set of fingers. If only the Ina Wave had been around back then, I could have saved myself so much grief. Sigh.)

As I discovered this past Sunday, the Ina Wave feels freakishly like the real thing. Once inserted, the moveable shaft gently strokes your g-spot, while the smaller arm vibrates and massages your clit. I was shocked at how quickly and powerfully I came the first time (and since I was alone, in a very nice hotel room, I didn’t hold back and actually let out a tiny scream. It was that good.) In fact,  it was one of the most powerful orgasms I’ve had with a toy ever, period. While I came for a second, third and fourth time I couldn’t help but remark how much the velvety soft Ina Wave felt like actual fingers. Gorgeous, skilled, robot fingers.

Ina Wave 1Unlike the original Lelo Ina which can often feel a bit stiff and inflexible (read: too much pressure on the clit), the Wave version is a much more comfortable fit. Both the shaft and clitoral arm are soft and flexible, which means you can shift them around to find exactly that right spot for you. The controls are also very straightforward and easy to use which makes for a relaxing, hassle free play session.

Not to mention, the Lelo Ina Wave is a total looker. She comes in three gorgeous colours and in true Lelo style, is packaged like a luxurious gift. I absolutely love the packaging and stunning multicoloured “smoke” motif used for this line.

lelo-ina-wave-plum-love-toyIf you know you already enjoy the kind of stimulation I described above or just want to try something totally new (sexy, robot fingers!), I would totally recommend the Ina Wave. Although it’s a bit on the pricey side, this is one of those toys that after trying it, I would have had no qualms spending my own money on (because, robot fingers & crazy intense orgasms.) The Lelo Ina Wave now has a place on my list of favourite sex toys.

The Ina Wave was provided care of the lovely people at Lelo in exchange for my honest opinion of the product. All views are entirely my own because that’s how I roll.

I bought this a few weeks ago. My very first sex toy actually. I typically do not have a lot of interest in a lot of self masturbation, but this toy has changed this asap. My body is feeling euphoric feelings that it didn’t know existed. I read a lot of reviews before this big purchase, but a lot of them didn’t serve the toy and it’s amazing vibrations justice! I am not sure what what else can measure up, but I am in heaven.

That’s so awesome to hear! I love this toy so much. It’s quickly become a favorite, so much that I’m not reaching for anything else lately.

  • Fantastic review! Will have to recommend this on our next sex toy post. We love Lelo, so glad to hear the Ina Wave is a hit.

Two fingers in my Wife rubbing up towards the soft spongy anterior G spot along with oral sex has consistently provided her with orgasms over time. I have recently purchased this instrument and I use it on her and so far it is two for two in the hit and score category. This device certainly produces results and we recommend it. I am not certain how using it alone you can prevent limit the external movement but fo us using it alone is not a problem and I can keep as firm a grip as we need to deliver internal stimulation as she prefers – which is a moderate grip not firm and not loose. In any event it certainly does the job.

I’m so glad that you and your wife enjoy the Wave! Thanks for reading!!

My Soraya is not holding its charge as long as it used to so I want to replace it. I’m having trouble deciding between another Soraya and the Ina Wave. Which do you prefer?

To be honest, I love them both because they each do different things. The Wave is great if you like intense clitoral stimulation & the feeling of fingers stroking your G-spot. The Soraya is a great all around vibrator with a more flexible clitoral stimulator (but it also offers good g-spot stimulation.) They’re both great options! I hope that helps?
