Lingerie Review | The Charnos Cherub Bra from Ohhh Canada

One of the things I wasn’t expecting when I entered my 30’s was how much my body would change. I’ve always had a fairly large chest for my frame, however over the past two years or so my boobs have gone from a C cup to a DD. Maybe that’s TMI, but it’s the truth. I didn’t have surgery and I haven’t had any children, so I attribute most of the increase to weight gain, lifting more weights at the gym and well, my body just changing. I’m trying my best to embrace this change. The downside is that a lot of my favourite bras no longer fit. Needless to say, I was super excited and grateful when the lovely Katrina from Ohhh Canada sent me this gorgeous bra from Charnos to try (thank you!!)

This stunning specimen of magenta lace is part of the Cherub Bra and Briefs set by designer UK lingerie company Charnos. The bra and panty set are designed and manufactured in Europe. The Cherub Bra is lightly padded with an underwire for extra oomph and features delicate see-through lace details along the top and straps. The overall look of the bra is sultry and classic…and the colour, oh the colour! When I posted the photo below on Instagram a bunch of you freaked out over the gorgeousness of this bra – and rightfully so!

I know what you guys are probably thinking: “Hey, Simone. Didn’t you just review another pink bra a few weeks ago?!” Yes, yes I did. However, this one is different – I swear. Unlike the Yes Master Bra which is more of a boudoir piece (to be worn in the bedroom), the Cherub Bra is an ultra-supportive everyday bra that just happens to also be ridiculously sexy.

Although I love the Yes Master bra, this is by far a much sturdier and supportive bra. The quality is really awesome. I love the nice, thick straps with a gorgeous lace detailing along the edges.

The bra also has a thick band across the back (something I always look for when I’m shopping for a bra) so when you have it on it feels really secure. The band is also double lined (smooth satin stretch on the front, delicate mesh on the inside) which adds to the overall high-quality, durable feel of this piece. The bra fastens with a hook and eye closure at the back.

My only critique of this piece is that I found that it rubbed a little bit where the lace part attaches to the elasticized part of the straps. However, by adjusting the straps I was able to make the straps fit more comfortably. I also suspect that the bra will soften up over time as some of my other bras have.

As a lingerie company, Charnos is passionate about creating bras that have a great fit (and they have been at it since 1958!) This bra definitely doesn’t disappoint. Unlike previous bras I’ve reviewed in the past, I can say without a doubt that this bra is super supportive and a great option for curvier, bustier girls.

The Cherub bra fits very much like in the first photo at the top of this post. While it’s a technically a demi cup bra, it still offers quite a bit of coverage (which was nice, because I hate feeling like my boobs are on the verge of popping out of my lingerie.) This is a supportive underwire bra so it will enhance your cleavage a bit, however overall the look is quite natural.

If you’re on the hunt for a dramatic push-up bra with lots of padding, the Cherub bra probably isn’t what you’re looking for. However, if you want a gorgeous, supportive bra that will make you feel totally sexy, look no further! Overall I was really impressed with the quality, fit and sexiness of this piece and would definitely consider checking out other pieces from the Charnos line in the future. The set which includes a matching pair of panties can be purchased at Ohhh Canada for $85.99.

This review was brought to you by the awesome people over at Ohhh Canada. I received the bra free of charge in exchange for my honest assessment of the product. All opinions are my own because that’s how I roll.
